Maureen Denise McCormick was born on 5 August 1956 at Woodland Hills California the youngest and sole daughter of Richard and Irene McCormick. She was raised by a mother who was a housewife and a father who taught. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three elder brothers. McCormick was a gifted entertainer and singer at an early age. She would put on shows with puppets for the neighbors. After winning the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6 an old Pat Domigan called from Jack Wormser Agency to see whether McCormick was interested in getting into the entertainment industry. McCormick landed her first major work in 1964, as she acted in a TV commercial featuring Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. The following year she appeared in another commercial with the company's Chatty Cathy doll and was shortly cast in the musical The Wind It Up And It Breaks at the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned to play the oldest daughter in the trio of towheaded girls in The Brady Bunch. The show featured Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and a blended family. The show ran for five seasons. McCormick admitted her story in Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published in 2008) that McCormick nearly lost her Virginity in the hands of Barry Williams during the five-year duration in the series. At the time, she was 16, and he was 19. This would have occurred according to her. However, the timing for our marriage was not right.
